Parents and health officials have called for the reopening of district schools in the months following the reopening of private schools in the fall.
However, the teachers union argued that it was not safe for students to return until the educator was vaccinated.
Still, even though the neighboring cities of Berkeley and Auckland welcomed most of the older students, only a small group of vulnerable middle and high school students were allowed to return to San Francisco.
After months of backlash, the teachers union released “exciting news” on Sunday that it had reached an agreement with the district to allow older people to return home. San Francisco Chronicle report.
Details of the plan were not specified in the announcement, but it was later revealed that each student cohort had two staff members overseeing them on campus.
The size of the cohort is not yet known, but district officials said the activities included “the end of high school conversations” and “a college or career quest.”

Students will be returned to the two high school sites. That is, most older people do not return to their school.
It is not yet clear how many students will accept the offer, and the district is polling families to assess how many of the 4,000 potential seniors will return.
District officials believe the plan will provide $ 12 million in state reopening grants.
State law requires the district to resume direct instruction in at least one grade of primary and middle school or high school by May 15.
The legislation was sponsored by Congressman Phil Tin, who said he was unsure whether the district’s plans would be funded.
He said:’It definitely doesn’t meet the spirit of law. The children were supposed to come back directly. The children were supposed to come back to learn.

He is currently encouraging the district to be inflexible and fully reopened in the fall to prevent similar situations from occurring.
Decreasing the Distance, a parents-run advocate for school reopening, condemned the plan and said: Does this show them that they are important, or is it just that money is important? “
They said she wanted to go back to school, but said it was too late and added a senior who said she didn’t like this.
The elementary school was reopened in early April, and a site for junior and senior high school students with high needs was set up at the end of the month.
These sites are designed for students studying English in public housing, people with disabilities, or students struggling with distance learning.
Of the total 52,000 students in the district, about 19,000 have returned to school so far.
The district had a reopening plan that did not include second-year middle school students before the state announced funding for the grant.
Authorities and unions then came up with plans to scramble for a potential $ 12 million and resume the day.
