A technology foundry is focused on developing new processes that are more unique to the individual customer. This can be as simple as a typical ASIC approach where the customer just brings product concepts. But then it goes beyond this in its ability to work hand-in-hand with customers to identify unconventional materials, integrate process flows, and take it to manufacturable yield.
