We don't need to keep living inside screens — especially ones controlled by Mark. We don't need to accept Facebook's domination of the digital world.

There is already an open, global social network that no single company controls, called the Web. Anyone can create a "profile" on it, and associate with whomever they want. It has no ads, algorithms, or emotional manipulation.

Start a site on Neocities, share photos on Pixelfed, or write your thoughts on Write.as — to name a few.

Facebook is still bad, and it will be regardless of what they call themselves. It's time to realize we don't need them, and we can build a healthier, more human "social network" without them.
