US Mortality Monitoring – Deaths, Excess, Z-Scores, State Map

This chart shows the weekly deaths per for USA and its states over time. This allows to monitor the mortality for the US and each state closely over time.

The baseline is calculated as expected deaths of 2015-2019, adjusted for age and population changes and smoothed using a Gauss window function. The Normal range is +/- two standard deviations and the substanital increase is four standard deviations above the baseline.

Note: Using CDC's predicted deaths. Additionally corrected for reporting delay based on last three months of reporting. The blue dashed line shows the prediction and the green area shows the 95% prediction interval of the prediction.
