I wanted to provide some clarification on the recent VCAP exam retirements that we announced this week.

1. The most popular tracks are not impacted:

  • The VCAP DCV 5.5 Design, the VCAP DCV 5.5 Administration and VCIX NV exams are not being retired and remain available.

  • These three exams are the most popular and are aligned to the current competencies (not outdated).

2. New/updated exams are coming soon:

  • New versions of the vSphere 6 exams are in development now for release later this year, and will be updated for the latest market needs..

  • We want to focus our development efforts on building the new exams, updated with the latest skills, competencies.

  • They will be packaged up in the new VCIX credentials that were announced in early February.

  • Anyone scheduled to take one of the retired exams prior to March 14th will be able to take it.

I hope that this provides some additional clarification. I want to make sure that you know that not all of the exams were retired. Thank you!
